Mathematics Resources
Click here for some of my favorite
mathematics links.
Graphing
Calculator
- Great tool to graph functions.
Can change parameters of the function and show
overlay of the function with different parameters.
How
to Read Math
- This is a very good article
I found describing a very good approach to reading
mathematics. It is in PDF format so you will need
to have Acrobat
Reader on your computer.
Poor
Scholar's Soliloquy
- Here is a link to an essay
I have kept with me for over 20 years. It reminds
teachers there are many ways to demonstrate knowledge
and understanding. Not everyone learns in the
same manner or demonstrates their abilities in
quite the same way. Also, a student knows more
than we or they think they know. One task of an
educator is to show the student how to use what
they already know and how they can continue to
expand their knowledge and abilities. We are in
a knowledge society today, where everyone needs
to be learning each day. Otherwise you can become
stagnant or obsolete.
GRAPH
PAPER
- While your can go to your local
store to buy graph paper, this site let's you
download a PDF format of several different types
of graphing paper formats specifically designed
for mathematics homework. Even better, there is
a link at the bottom of the page to download a
graph paper generator program. You can design
and print graph paper to your specifications.
2003
Holiday Letter: Fractal Snowlakes
- Here is a PDF file of the holiday
letter I sent to my students about mathematical
snowflakes based on the Koch Snowflake Fractal.
